Job Description
- TITLE: Food Service Associate

- Provide excellent customer service by acknowledging and assisting customers. Take orders accurately and serve customers at counters in a timely manner.
- Prepare and cook to order a variety of foods in a timely and accurate manner.
- Accurately perform all register operations in compliance with GICW over and short policy.
- Collect payments, make change, and provide receipts.
- Ensure that food is prepared and served in a sanitary manner.
- Clean and bus tables in cafeteria and snack bar. Keep dishes clean.
- Stock all items that are used on a daily basis.
- Set up for catering events, serve, and cleanup as needed.
- Scrub and polish counters, steam tables, and other equipment.
- Be the “person-in-charge” in accordance with the FDA Food Code in the Food Service Supervisor’s absence.
- Foster and demonstrate a positive team environment.
- Must demonstrate willingness and ability to adhere to all GICW’s policies and procedures, CARF standards, Kaizen guidelines, safety and security regulations.
- Perform miscellaneous duties, as assigned.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Knowledge of county health and safety regulations.
- Possess a current Food Handler’s Card or ability to obtain a card within 30 days of employment.
- Excellent customer service.
- Excellent grooming and hygiene.
- Able to follow instructions.
- Must successfully complete GICW’s Cashier Certification class.
- Must maintain consistent, predictable, and satisfactory attendance and punctuality as scheduled. Must be able to demonstrate upon request functional literacy and numeric proficiency
- Must have command of the English language sufficient to verbally communicate with the general public.
- Must not present a significant current risk of substantial harm to self or others in the performance of the essential duties of the job that cannot be eliminated or reduced by reasonable accommodation.
- Must provide proof of identification and eligibility to work in the United States of America.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must meet GICW quantitative and qualitative performance standards.
- Work is performed in a commercial cafeteria and employees will be exposed to associated hazards.
- Moderate adaptability required: Work environment occasionally hectic (fast paced) with irregular short deadlines and a limited number of critical or unusual situations.

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday from 7 AM-3:30 PM
GENERAL SUMMARY: Assist the Supervisor in the daily operations of the cafeteria.
