Cafe Assistant

This vacancy is a salaried, part time position working 20 hours per week. The Café Assistant is responsible for assisting Café staff in all daily operations of the Café. Ideal applicants should have or be able to obtain a food handler’s certification with the ability to renew every 2 years. The ability to communicate courteously and effectively with staff, faculty, and clientele is important for this role. 

A high school diploma or equivalent is required as is knowledge of food preparation, food storage, and sanitation regulations. 

Duties are performed in a café/food preparation environment. 

This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215.

Salary: $15,000 annually; State of Texas benefits + Retirement.
