- Director of Sales & Marketing ($100k-$130k)
The Director of Sales and Marketing plans, directs and executes group and transient sales efforts for Manor Vail Lodge and supports Pyramid Global’s marketing and sales initiatives.

-Earns between $100k-$130k plus a potential incentive of 20% based on property goals
What you will have an opportunity to do:
-Oversee and take an active role in group and transient sales efforts primarily for the purpose of driving revenue through the rooms and food & beverage
-Work alongside the property director of revenue management to optimize revenue through all market segments
-Work with the Director of Finance in all related forecasting of revenue outlooks.
-Provide stable sales and marketing leadership and build trust internally and across organizational boundaries
-Establish group sales goal, forecasting group room nights and group room revenues; budgeting and management of the group sales effort.
-Establish the F.I.T. sales targets, forecasting F.I.T. revenues and budgeting.
-Manage and direct the sales and administrative effort on a day-to-day basis.
-Oversee the sales and marketing responsibilities for all catering and social business.
-Assisting, coaching, training, motivating and counseling of all Sales Managers and sales staff.
-Assist as needed with group promotions, familiarization trips as well as set-up and conducting site inspections for the property.
-Stay abreast of industry trends and make recommendations of changes, which would affect operations.
-Develop key business initiatives, such as entry into new market segments to include the consideration and development of tradeshows and events that create visitor demand.
-Ensure internal communications are coordinated to support sales plan in addition to staff awareness of VIPs, Groups and Familiarization trips.
-Leverage local and regional relationships (ie: Bravo!, VVP) to maximize exposure and revenue opportunities in exchange for Manor Vail Support.
-Develop sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses.
-Ensure telephone sales techniques are employed in such a way as to support our selling strategies and drive customer loyalty.
-Provide property specific information and insight to Pyramid Global Corporate Marketing and Sales team to assure that initiatives meet Manor Vail’s needs.
-Assist Pyramid Global corporate with sales blitzes, email blasts, guest information, etc.
-Represent Manor Vail Lodge at the local marketing and sales events and with local marketing groups including the Vail Valley Partnership and the Vail local marketing district, etc.
-Assist Director of Marketing/PR in initiating and carrying out all efforts in order to fulfill the strategies and tactics put forth in the property’s marketing plans
-Partner with Director of Marketing/PR in Interacting with and assessing visibility of local marketing opportunities for Manor Vail with a focus on the restaurant, lounge and catering/banquet awareness and sales.
-Implement and maintain a business management system which is built upon a framework of measurement, information, data and analysis.
-Effectively plan and implement processes and procedures necessary to ensure effective associate relations, customer satisfaction and achievement of budgeted property revenues.
-Ability to effectively complete all information contained in this job description without direct supervision.
-Maintain consistent knowledge of property features/ services and hours of operation and anticipated levels of business
-Report to and General Manager and interact with the corporate staff promoting proper relations between all parties.
-In conjunction with the Director of Marketing/PR, act in a consultative capacity to the General Manager and other members of the Executive Committee on sales/marketing issues; provide advice and guidance to ensure optimal marketing effectiveness, confer with department managers to continually develop product offerings, marketing needs, methodologies and resources, to promote new/improved products and to solicit feedback of overall sales/marketing efforts
-Develop strategies for forecasting and analyzing sales/marketing needs and developing effective product responses, delivery systems and methods for measuring and evaluating results.
-In conjunction with the Director of Marketing/PR, prepare, develop and execute all marketing plans to provide direction and specific plans of action.
-Ensure that accurate and current marketing and sales related data is readily available to support and document decision-making processes.
-Support, and participate in all direct sales efforts of the sales and marketing team to include sales trips, off-property functions and customer entertainment.
-Work with Director of Marketing/PR to understand website activity, the reviews and monitor business volume.
-Develop and implement annual goals, objectives and budget for the Sales & Marketing department.
-Serve as a member of the property executive committee.
-Foster a cooperative work environment, which focuses on trusting relationships, maximum productivity and associate morale.
-Monitor quality and accuracy of final group sales contracts to ensure proper application of property deposit, space allocation, yield and policies.
What are we looking for?
- 5+ years’ experience in a Director of Sales and Marketing role for a Hotel or Resort
- Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent (Communication/Marketing/Advertising preferred)
- Graphic Design experience a plus (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.)
- SalesForce (Delphi) experience preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form with the public as well as other team members.
- Essential statistical and analytical skills required to identify revenue opportunities and shortfalls.
- Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally to achieve goals.
- Ability to thrive in a multi-tasked and fast-paced environment.
- Someone with the availability to work when the events are happening, i.e. weekends, nights and holidays

- Part Time Bell Attendant $15/hour + tips
- HVAC/Mechanical Technician ($25-$30/hour)
