Cook - Full Time
Full time Cook position; Monday - Friday; Hours 5 a.m. - 1 p.m.;
Minimum Qualifications: Formal course in cooking principles and a N.Y.C. Department of Health Food Protection Course Certificate; Two (2) years experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen/institutional setting or a satisfactory equivalent combination of education, experience and training; Knowledge regarding nutrition as it applies to the elderly population; Team Player Background check is required; Medical and Dental Insurance available after 90 probationary period; Vacation, personal and sick time; 403B plan offered;
Job Description: Check menus, special and/or modified diet lists to determine types and quantity offood to be prepared in accordance with standard procedures; Prepare the washing, trimming, cooking and seasoning of all food items; Utilize a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment; Determine that all food is within NYC DOH temperature requirements; Accept and stock al delivered food products and label if necessary; etc.
